"The German" Appointed as Coach... Tomorrow

Berlin – AFP – Jürgen Klopp is likely to officially take charge of the German national football team after the German Football Association (DFB) called a press conference for tomorrow, Friday.

Klopp, known for his successes during his tenures with German club Borussia Dortmund and English club Liverpool, held talks with the DFB in an effort to bring the “Mannschaft” back to the forefront as one of the traditional powerhouses of world football.

The 59-year-old Klopp, one of the most decorated coaches of his generation, is expected to sign a contract with the German national team extending until 2030, the date of the next World Cup.

Since 2025, Klopp has been under contract with the Austrian energy drink company Red Bull as “Global Football Chief,” overseeing the group’s affiliated clubs, including German side RB Leipzig, Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg, and American side New York Red Bulls.

The German Football Association dismissed former coach Julian Nagelsmann after Germany’s disappointing exit from the 2026 World Cup, following their loss to Paraguay on penalties in the Round of 32.
