Al-Ahmad to Champions and Championesses of the National Teams: Your Achievements Are a Source of Pride and Honor

Under the patronage and in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, the Ministry of State for Youth and Sports Affairs hosted today the National Honoring Ceremony for champions of the national teams, both male and female, for the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 sports seasons, at the Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre.
In a press statement following the ceremony, His Highness affirmed that the achievements attained by the champions of the national teams represent a source of pride and honor, reflecting the spirit of determination and resolve demonstrated by Kuwaiti youth, who make outstanding efforts to represent their country and raise its name and flag at various international sporting arenas.
The Prime Minister stated that this honoring ceremony is a tribute to the significant efforts exerted by the athletes, as well as the technical and administrative staff, which yielded results and accomplishments that elevated the name of the State of Kuwait at regional and international sporting events. He emphasized that the government attaches great importance to Kuwaiti sports and is committed to providing a supportive environment that enables athletes to continue excelling and achieving further successes.
He added that investing in the potential of young Kuwaiti nationals constitutes a fundamental pillar for building a promising future for sports in Kuwait, expressing his pride and honor in the achievements attained by Kuwaitis in securing these prestigious positions.
In his address, Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs Dr. Tariq Hamad Al-Jalahma emphasized that honoring our athletes today is a recognition of their effort and dedication, and a message of pride in the accomplishments we all cherish. He affirmed the government’s continued support for athletes and its commitment to providing an appropriate environment that enables them to develop their capabilities and realize their aspirations, thereby enhancing the State of Kuwait’s standing on the sporting stage.
In his remarks, Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports, Bishr Abdullah Al-Salem, noted that today’s honoring of athletes is not merely a celebration, but a message of gratitude, appreciation, and pride to all athletes across all sports disciplines for their efforts and achievements, in their strive to raise the flag of the State of Kuwait at international events.
Attending the ceremony were Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs Dr. Tariq Hamad Al-Jalahma, Chairperson of Salwa Al-Sabah Sports Club Sheikh Naima Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports Bishr Abdullah Al-Salem, along with several presidents of federations, clubs, and sports committees, and senior officials from the Public Authority for Youth and Sports.
