Air Defenses Continue to Repel the Treacherous Aggression
In this context, Qatar strongly condemned the renewed Iranian attacks on Kuwait, Jordan, and Bahrain, including the targeting of the Kuwaiti tanker “Kivan” as it transited the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs described these attacks as a blatant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of these countries, a serious threat to the safety of navigation and global energy supplies, and a flagrant breach of international law, the UN Charter, and the principles of good neighborliness. The statement emphasized that the continuation of these attacks constitutes a dangerous escalation that would complicate efforts to contain tensions and undermine political and diplomatic initiatives aimed at achieving security and stability in the region.
It stressed the urgent need for an immediate and complete halt to all military actions and attacks threatening the security and stability of the region, as well as refraining from any measures that could expand the scope of escalation. It called for a serious return to dialogue and negotiations, and for adherence to the understandings reached through diplomatic efforts. Qatar reaffirmed its full solidarity with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the State of Kuwait, and its support for all measures they undertake to safeguard their sovereignty and security.
For its part, Egypt strongly condemned the attack on the tanker “Kivan.” In a statement, Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attack represented a dangerous escalation and a violation of international law and the rules governing freedom of maritime navigation, threatening the security and stability of the Gulf region and the safety of international sea lanes.
Egypt reaffirmed its full solidarity with Kuwait and its support for all measures taken to protect its security, sovereignty, and interests. It reiterated its firm rejection of any attack targeting Arab states or threatening international navigation security and the integrity of global trade routes. It called for an immediate halt to all escalatory actions, adherence to the principles of international law and the UN Charter, and the prioritization of diplomatic solutions and dialogue to help contain tensions and preserve regional and international security and stability.
