Mohammed and Fatima are the most common names in Kuwait

Data from the Public Authority for Civil Information revealed that the name Muhammad topped the list of the most common male names in Kuwait through the end of June, while Fatima led the list of female names, according to the Authority’s registered names data.

The Authority’s list of the most frequently used male names showed that Abdullah, Ahmed, Ali, Khaled, Abdulaziz, Fahad, Yusuf, Abdulrahman, and Nasser were among the most prevalent in the country. Among female names, Fatima, Maryam, Sara, Noura, Munira, Dalal, Sheikha, Reem, Aisha, and Dana were the most widely used.

Regarding occupations, the Authority’s data highlighted differences in the most common job titles between Kuwaitis and non-Kuwaitis. For citizens, jobs were predominantly linked to the government sector, education, and specialized services.

The title “Government Executive Employee” ranked first among the most registered occupations for Kuwaitis, followed by Army Military Personnel (Private, Corporal, Sergeant), then Clerical Workers. The list also included Managers, Religious Education Teachers, Secretaries, Accountants, Kindergarten Teachers, and General Practicing Physicians.

Among non-Kuwaitis, service and operational jobs dominated the list. The most common occupation was “Household Servant,” followed by “Private Car Driver,” then “Market Vendor,” along with “Light Vehicle Driver,” “Sheet Maker,” “Passport Correspondent and Representative,” “General Laborer,” “Waiter (Order Taker),” “Warehouse Goods Handler,” and “Building and Residential Facility Cleaner.”
