Aida Al-Minhali... Returns to the Music Video with "Qalbi Rahinak"
Emirati artist Aidah Al-Munhali has returned to music video production after a nine-year hiatus, releasing a new video clip for his song “Qalbi Rahinak” (My Heart Is Held Hostage to You) via his official YouTube channel and digital streaming platforms. This move marks his return to this format after years of releasing songs in audio-only form.
The song features lyrics by poet Ali Al-Khamisani, with Al-Munhali handling both composition and vocals. The video was directed by Hani Shibani, who presented the work with a vision aligned with its emotional atmosphere, focusing on highlighting the sentiment conveyed by the lyrics and melody.
In a statement to the press, Al-Munhali explained that his choice of “Qalbi Rahinak” as the first song to be filmed after his long absence was driven by his conviction that it possesses the qualities of a complete artistic work. He noted that from the outset of its production, he felt it deserved to be presented in a visual format due to the emotions and feelings it conveys, as well as the harmony between the lyrics and the melody. This encouraged him to transform it into a music video, offering it as a gift to his audience and fans of emotional songs.
He added that the music video industry has undergone significant changes in recent years, driven by the rapid advancements imposed by digital platforms, and that audiences now engage with songs in ways different from before.
