150 Trainees at the Capital Summer Club
Dr. Abbas Al-Fili, president of the Capital Summer Club, announced that the number of trainees and student participants in the club’s summer activities has exceeded 150 so far, with registration applications still being accepted. He noted that the summer clubs organized by the Ministry of Education for the second consecutive year are part of the ministry’s program and plan, under the direct guidance and support of Minister of Education Jalal Al-Tabatabai, with the aim of utilizing the summer vacation to develop students’ capabilities and hone their skills in various fields.
In a statement, Al-Fili said that the summer program includes a comprehensive package of sports, cultural, educational, and social activities, which contribute to attracting students and developing their physical skills, while enhancing their cultural and social aspects. This aligns with the Ministry of Education’s vision, which places human development and human resource development at the forefront of its priorities, considering students the fundamental pillar of the development process. He explained that trainers were carefully selected according to their specializations in physical education and various activities to ensure the provision of high-quality training programs.
He clarified that the Capital Summer Club offers a range of team sports, including football, basketball, and handball, along with numerous educational games and activities aimed at strengthening social culture, fostering cooperation and communication among students, and providing them with opportunities to meet, build positive relationships, and interact with one another.
He added that the opening of the summer clubs came in response to the Minister of Education’s directives to create a safe educational environment that utilizes students’ free time during the summer vacation, providing them with meaningful educational and recreational programs. These programs help keep them from spending most of their time at home and enable them to benefit from diverse programs that develop their abilities and refine their talents.
Al-Fili pointed out that registration for the clubs was announced through the Ministry of Education’s student services website, which witnessed a notable response from parents keen to enroll their children to benefit from the offered programs and develop their sports, cultural, and social skills. He noted that the Capital Summer Club serves students from the Capital Educational Area and neighboring regions, adding that the club continues to accept students daily from Sunday to Thursday, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, while registration remains open until the end of August.
Al-Fili called on parents to take the initiative to enroll their children to benefit from the programs and activities offered by the club, emphasizing that these clubs represent a genuine investment in the potential of youth. They contribute to preparing a generation equipped with sports and cultural skills, thereby qualifying them to represent sports clubs and national teams in the future and uphold the name of the State of Kuwait at various international forums.
