Red Crescent Introduces Its Humanitarian Mission to Students

The Kuwait Red Crescent Society organized an introductory visit for a delegation of students participating in the summer program organized by the International Islamic Charity Organization, in cooperation with the Public Authority for Youth Affairs, with the aim of introducing them to the Society’s humanitarian mission and strengthening their culture of volunteering and humanitarian work.
The Society’s Director General, Fawaz Al-Muzarai, told KUNA news agency on Wednesday that the Society is keen to open its doors to young people and adolescents to introduce them to its humanitarian mission, its national and relief role, and to instill in them the values of volunteering and giving.
Al-Muzarai added that the visit program included a first aid training workshop aimed at equipping participants with essential skills for dealing with emergencies and enhancing awareness of the importance of rapid response and first aid, as one of the fundamental pillars in saving lives.
He clarified that the visit included an introductory session that outlined the history of the Red Crescent and its key humanitarian and relief programs within Kuwait and abroad, along with a field tour of the Society’s departments to learn about its operational mechanisms, services, and programs in humanitarian and volunteer fields, and its role in supporting victims of natural and man-made disasters.
He noted that these visits and awareness programs contribute to developing humanitarian awareness among emerging generations, introducing them to the humanitarian principles underpinning the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, and encouraging them to embrace a culture of volunteering, initiative, and community service.
He praised the cooperation between the Red Crescent, the International Islamic Charity Organization, and the Public Authority for Youth Affairs, emphasizing that partnerships among national institutions help prepare a conscious generation equipped with essential skills and committed to the values of social responsibility and humanitarian work, thereby positively reflecting on community service and strengthening the culture of giving.
