Closure of 8 Violating Establishments in Jaleeb

KUNA – A joint inspection campaign carried out by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area, in cooperation with several government entities, resulted in the issuance of 227 violation reports and the closure of eight non-compliant establishments.

In a statement, the ministry said the campaign was conducted “to enhance cooperation and coordination among relevant government bodies, activate supervisory plans to monitor commercial activities, curb violations, and protect consumers.”

It noted that the campaign took place from July 15 to 19, involving 100 commercial inspectors from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Field teams were deployed to ensure coverage of as many commercial sites as possible within the area.

The teams focused on businesses that had received complaints or were suspected of violating regulations, as well as shops requiring periodic follow-up to verify compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and to take legal action against violators.

The ministry highlighted that the campaign identified several unlicensed commercial activities in the area, noting the difficulty of inspecting them due to inadequate infrastructure, unclear address numbering systems, and the presence of old and dilapidated shops.
