Eiraula: Liverpool still needs reinforcements

Chicago – Reuters – Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola confirmed that the English club still needs to strengthen certain positions during the current summer transfer window, amid the departure of several key players and injuries to others. Liverpool have signed French defender Jeremy Jagiela and Spanish midfielder Victor Munoz, but have lost the services of Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah, Scottish left-back Andy Robertson, and French center-back Ibrahima Konate. Meanwhile, French midfielder Hugo Ekitike, Northern Irish right-back Conor Bradley, and Italian forward Giovanni Leoni are sidelined through injury.

Speaking in Chicago, Iraola said: “It is difficult to pinpoint all of the team’s needs with precision while the transfer market remains open, as it should always remain open to opportunities that could help improve the squad.”

Iraola added: “In other areas, we need to assess the options available in the market, the cost of potential signings, and the level of the players we already have. Some positions look complicated because we have injured players whom we trust in their abilities, but the situation is still far from ideal.”

The future of Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker at Anfield remains uncertain, but Iraola affirmed his desire to keep him in the squad, stating: “I believe he will be a very important element in helping new players adapt, whether they are experienced professionals or young talents.”
