$6 Million from the Private Sector in Support of the Emergency Response Fund

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development announced that several private sector institutions and companies have contributed a total of $6 million to the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund, which the Fund launched on July 5 to enhance national readiness and strengthen the country’s capacity to confront challenges and exceptional circumstances.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Kuwait Fund noted that Badr Nasser Al-Kharafi Holding Group contributed $1 million “in appreciation of the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund initiative and in commitment to supporting its efforts in line with its national and social responsibility.” It added that this contribution stems from the importance of supporting national initiatives aimed at protecting the country and enhancing its capabilities to face challenges, as well as strengthening cooperation among various state institutions and the private sector.

The Fund stated that Gulf Cables and Electrical Industries Group contributed $2 million “in commitment to contributing to the success of the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund initiative and reaffirming the importance of supporting national initiatives aimed at protecting the country and enhancing its capabilities to face challenges.” It emphasized that this contribution embodies values of solidarity and shared responsibility, and reflects a commitment to strengthening the state’s readiness and capacity to handle various exceptional circumstances and emergencies.

It further noted that the Kuwait Stock Exchange and the Kuwait Clearing Company contributed $2 million “in commitment to contributing to the success of the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund initiative in line with national and social responsibility, and in belief that the concerted efforts of all state institutions and the private sector constitute a fundamental pillar for enhancing the ability to confront crises efficiently and effectively.”
