Minister Fathi: The Kuwaiti tourist shares close historical and human ties with Egypt

Fathi told KUNA during the inauguration of the Sultan Qaitbay Mosque in Cairo Governorate, following the completion of its restoration works, that “Kuwaiti tourists are well acquainted with Egypt and have been visiting it for many years due to the close historical and human ties that bind them to the country.”

He added that “the Egyptian people greatly appreciate the Kuwaiti people and hold them in high esteem,” emphasizing that history has demonstrated the depth of relations between the two countries in numerous instances and milestones.

He clarified that Egyptian-Kuwaiti cooperation in the tourism sector is “natural and spontaneous,” reaffirming his country’s openness to various forms of cultural exchange with Kuwait and other Arab states, and stressing that cooperation between brothers in cultural fields is a natural occurrence, dictated by the bonds of history, geography, and fraternal relations.

The inauguration of the Sultan Qaitbay Mosque in the Al-Gamaleya district comes after the completion of its restoration and development project, as part of the Egyptian state’s efforts to preserve cultural and architectural heritage, safeguard historical monuments, and enhance tourism and cultural objectives, thereby contributing to revitalizing tourist activity and highlighting the historical value of archaeological sites.
