Red Cross: Kuwaiti Red Crescent is a key partner in humanitarian initiatives

Ann Momontafon, Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Regional Mission, stated that the Kuwait Red Crescent Society is a key partner of the ICRC in numerous joint regional and international humanitarian initiatives and programs, praising the society’s prominent humanitarian role and the high regard it enjoys within the humanitarian community.
Momontafon told KUNA on Tuesday, following her visit to the society, that the cooperation between the ICRC and the Kuwait Red Crescent Society represents a successful model of humanitarian partnership based on coordination and exchange of expertise. She affirmed the ICRC’s commitment to continuing joint work and developing humanitarian programs and projects to address growing humanitarian challenges and enhance responses for the most vulnerable populations.
For his part, Khaled Al-Mughams, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, said the society is keen to expand cooperation with its international partners, sharing expertise and successful experiences to enhance the efficiency of humanitarian work and keep pace with escalating challenges.
