Kuwait Finance House Warns Against Engaging with Suspicious Links and Messages

Continuing its support for the “Let’s Be Aware” campaign, aimed at enhancing financial literacy, in collaboration with the Central Bank of Kuwait and the Kuwait Banks Association, Kuwait Finance House (KFH) warned against the risks of responding to suspicious messages and links.

Among the methods of online fraud is a message containing a malicious link that prompts the customer to click on it to access a specific website or to vote in a poll. Once the link is clicked, the customer’s device is compromised, and their data is accessed and exploited for malicious purposes.

KFH emphasized reminding customers that the bank will never request their personal information via email, text messages, or phone calls. Therefore, customers should avoid responding and sharing their information with such entities, as these are fraudulent attempts aimed at obtaining customers’ banking details to steal their money or personal data.

Regarding the protection of bank accounts, KFH has been keen to provide important advice to customers, such as not saving confidential information like bank card numbers or PINs on mobile phones, as well as not sharing one-time passwords (OTP) with anyone and logging out of the bank’s application or website immediately after completing a transaction.
