Heroes of Confrontation... Vigilance Continues
As Kuwaiti air defenses continued to repel hostile Iranian attacks, reaffirming their readiness and intercepting drones and missiles across three successive waves from dawn until afternoon on Monday, heroes on the front lines across various vital sectors continued to carry out their operational duties, particularly in military and security agencies, as well as in electricity and essential services, to ensure continuity of operations and immediate response to any repercussions of the aggression.
On the political front, Arab condemnations of the treacherous Iranian aggression persisted. Egypt renewed its full solidarity with Kuwait, firmly rejecting any aggression targeting the sovereignty of Arab states or their vital facilities. Meanwhile, Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al-Yamahi stressed that targeting civilian infrastructure and critical installations in Kuwait constitutes a grave violation of international law, calling on the international community to take a firm stance to halt these attacks.
Specifically, the General Staff of the Army announced in three successive statements issued over a 15-hour period—around 1:30 a.m., 7:30 a.m., and 4:30 p.m.—that air defenses had repelled hostile missile and drone attacks following the reprehensible Iranian aggression. The statement clarified that any explosions heard were the result of air defense systems intercepting hostile attacks, urging everyone to adhere to safety and security instructions issued by the competent authorities.
For its part, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s condemnation and strongest denunciation of the continued reprehensible Iranian aggression against the country, describing it as a blatant violation of its sovereignty, a direct threat to its security and stability, and a danger to the safety of its citizens and residents. It further characterized the attacks as a serious violation of international law, the UN Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817. The Ministry reiterated that the continuation of these brazen attacks, while regional and international efforts toward de-escalation are underway, represents a systematic undermining of de-escalation efforts and a disregard for the international will supporting this path. It emphasized that Kuwait’s security, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens and residents are inviolable, reaffirming Kuwait’s inherent and legitimate right to take all necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability.
In this context, reactions condemning and denouncing the Iranian attacks continued, particularly regarding the targeting of civilian and vital facilities. The United Arab Emirates strongly condemned the renewed Iranian attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain involving missiles and drones. In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that these attacks constitute a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the two sister states and a threat to their security and stability. It renewed the UAE’s full solidarity with Kuwait and Bahrain, affirming its support for all measures aimed at preserving their security and stability.
For his part, Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al-Yamahi strongly condemned on Monday the Iranian attack that targeted a power and water desalination station in Kuwait, asserting that targeting civilian infrastructure and vital installations represents a grave violation of international law, an unacceptable assault on Kuwaiti sovereignty, and a dangerous escalation threatening the security and stability of the region.
Al-Yamahi also affirmed in a statement the full solidarity of the Arab Parliament with the State of Kuwait and its support for all measures taken to safeguard its security and stability, preserve its sovereignty, and protect its vital facilities, stressing that Kuwait’s security is an integral part of Arab national security.
For its part, Egypt reiterated its condemnation of the reprehensible Iranian attack that targeted one of Kuwait’s electricity and water desalination plants, describing it as a direct assault on a critical civilian facility, a blatant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty, and a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the Gulf region and exacerbates regional tensions.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a declaration that Egypt reaffirms its full solidarity with fraternal Kuwait and its support for all measures undertaken to preserve its security and stability and protect its vital infrastructure. It reiterated Egypt’s firm rejection of attacks on civilian facilities and critical infrastructure, given the direct threat they pose to civilian safety and regional stability, and called for an immediate halt to all escalatory actions, and for diplomatic solutions to prevail in order to safeguard the security and stability of the region and spare its peoples further tension and escalation.
