"No criminal record" required for appointments in sports bodies

The Public Authority for Sports issued a directive to all sports bodies, emphasizing the requirement that the conditions for technical, administrative, and medical staff working in these entities must include a certificate issued by the competent authorities confirming that the individual has not previously been sentenced to a penalty restricting liberty for a felony or a crime involving moral turpitude or breach of trust (a “no criminal record” certificate).

This directive follows observations and inquiries received by the Authority from members of sports bodies and academies regarding the mechanism for verifying the criminal records of technical, medical, and administrative staff to ensure the safety of their children.
