Abdulaziz Ahmed to Al-Rai: "Bob Corne" Tweets Alone in the World of Cinema

Between singing, acting, and radio work, young artist Abdulaziz Ahmed affirms his diverse talents and skills, advancing with steady and balanced steps, without letting one field overshadow the other.

He is currently embarking on a media experience by hosting his radio program “Popcorn” alongside presenter Amani Al-Balushi, every Saturday evening on 103.7 FM. The show offers a distinct format focused on the world of global cinema and drama, covering the latest foreign films and series screened in cinemas and available on digital platforms, alongside a variety of segments that highlight the latest developments in the global artistic scene.

Speaking to “Al-Rai,” Ahmed detailed the program’s content: “The show features a main segment that sheds light on the latest cinematic works and global dramas, along with their directors and stars, and everything related to this artistic world.” He added, “My connection to this field is not recent; it dates back many years. Since childhood, I have been keen on going to the cinema, to the extent that I am currently working on creating a private home cinema.”

He continued, “My great passion for films was the primary motivation behind the idea of this program, which I present and produce, and which is directed by Abdulwahab Al-Salahat. As far as I know, and if I am not mistaken, ‘Popcorn’ is the only radio program in Kuwait entirely dedicated to highlighting the latest and most recent series and films, whether in cinemas or on streaming platforms. Thus, the show stands alone in this beautiful world.”

On the musical front, he said, “The last release I put out was a short while ago: the song ‘Ma Walati,’ with lyrics by poet Abdulaziz Al-Tuwaijri and composition by Al-Jasser. I performed it with a spirit that evokes the atmosphere of Gulf songs from the 1990s, combined with a contemporary musical vision that blends authenticity and innovation. To this day, I am still reaping the echoes of its success. However, at the same time, I am preparing to produce a new musical work, expected to be released by the end of summer.”

Regarding his acting career, Abdulaziz clarified, “I am not currently receiving any new offers, and no producer or director has contacted me about joining an upcoming dramatic project. Nevertheless, I remain open to any opportunity that I find suitable, through a role that attracts me and adds value to my acting career.”
