World Cup 2026: Mbappe Wins the Golden Boot

Washington, AFP – French striker Kylian Mbappé claimed the top scorer title at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after netting 10 goals for his national team, which finished fourth, two goals behind Argentina’s Lionel Messi. Messi failed to score in the final, a 1-0 extra-time defeat to Spain in New Jersey.
This marks the second consecutive time that the 27-year-old Mbappé has won the Golden Boot, following the 2022 tournament where he scored eight goals compared to Messi’s seven at the age of 39.
