“Rehearsal Number One”... Launched at the Sheikh Jaber Cultural Center
In line with the discovery and refinement of artistic talents, and preparing them to participate in the creation of theatrical productions, the first track of the “Rehearsal Number One” program launched at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center for the second consecutive season. The program serves as a creative space in theatrical performing arts, targeting amateurs and young talents, and providing them with an experimental and interactive theatrical environment.
The program offers a comprehensive training experience in theatrical performing arts, including acting, group dramatic singing, and expressive movement design, through training methods aimed at developing participants’ artistic and performance skills, expanding their creative horizons, and nominating outstanding participants for job opportunities in the theatrical production market.
Participants embark on a practical journey through all stages of theatrical production, from training and experimentation, through character building and performance, to producing theatrical experiences that transform the program into a genuine theatrical laboratory, where rehearsals become spaces for discovery and the development of artistic awareness.
The concept of the current season is based on presenting a series of exercises and performance skills that simulate a human journey for the actor through the “airport of life,” rooted in a deep belief in the message of the theatrical artist as a person who carries his passion and responsibility toward his community, and who believes that rehearsal is not merely a stage preceding the performance, but a journey in which awareness is formed, talent matures, and the theatrical character is built.
Through dramatic images that move between reality and imagination, the program presents an artistic vision that affirms that the theatrical artist stands on stage carrying a humanistic message stemming from his belief in the value of theater as a space for dialogue, reflection, posing questions, and awakening awareness, making the theatrical experience the fruit of a long journey of training, commitment, and awareness.
Director Abdullah Abdulrasool was responsible for the artistic vision of the first track of “Rehearsal Number One” and for training a large group of performers in acting, group dramatic singing, and expressive movement, within a theatrical environment dedicated to amateurs and theatrical talents.
