Al-Salmiya signs Uzbekistan's Azmidinov and Bahrain's Abdullah Yusuf

Al-Salmiya Club has strengthened its football squad for the upcoming season by signing Uzbek player Shahzod Azmidinov, who joins from Uzbek club Paxtakor, and Bahraini striker Abdullah Yusuf.

Yusuf embarked on a professional career in Europe, specifically in the Czech Republic, starting in 2018 with Bohemians before moving to Slavia Prague, where he won the league title in the 2019-2020 season. That campaign saw him face Italian side Inter Milan in the AFC Champions League, making him the first Gulf player to earn this distinction.

Meanwhile, the "Sky Blues" management announced the signing of several local players: Abdullah Al-Jassaf, Aqeel Al-Hazim, goalkeeper Abdullah Al-Ayoub, young talents Khaled Al-Othman and Fahad Al-Omairi, and Ahmed Khorshid.

The team is preparing to begin pre-season preparations for the new campaign, which are expected to include an external training camp featuring several friendly matches, followed by a return before the league kicks off on August 25 next year.
