Kuwait’s hopes that Iran’s culpable aggression would destabilize the country’s security and stability have been dashed, as air defense heroes continue to repel attacks and state institutions carry out their duties efficiently, driven by the resolve of frontline defenders. This resilience persists despite the targeting of military, vital, and civilian facilities. The political response has been firm, with Tehran bearing full responsibility, amidst a broad wave of Gulf, Arab, and Islamic solidarity with Kuwait.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s strongest condemnation and denunciation of Iran’s culpable aggression against its territory, which targeted two power and water desalination stations, oil sector facilities, and several vital installations. The attacks caused fires and inflicted serious damage on vital infrastructure, civilian facilities, and residential buildings.
The ministry emphasized that the repeated targeting of vital installations reveals a systematic aggressive approach aimed at civilian assets and essential infrastructure, endangering the lives and safety of civilians. It held Iran fully responsible for this brutal aggression and its repercussions, demanding an immediate halt to its attacks.
For his part, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassem Al-Budaiwi stated that Iran’s actions constitute a highly dangerous escalation, a serious violation of international law and the UN Charter, and war crimes that warrant international accountability and justice.
He stressed that the GCC stands united with Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan, supporting all measures taken by these nations to protect their security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
In the same vein, Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmi warned of the severe dangers posed by Iran’s reckless and culpable attacks, which represent an overt attempt to expand the conflict and push the region toward instability, undermining security and stability.
He expressed full rejection of this unjustified Iranian aggression, criticizing Tehran’s insistence on pursuing policies based on miscalculations and a distorted reading of reality.
Meanwhile, the Kuwait Petroleum Company announced that one of its vital sites had been subjected to repeated attacks, resulting in material losses and injuries. The Civil Defense Force reported that its teams managed to control two fires that broke out at two locations, with the participation of eight fire and support teams from the oil sector. It clarified that the renewed targeting of one site during firefighting operations resulted in injuries to several firefighters and an oil sector worker, who were transported for medical treatment. The teams also responded to three separate fires caused by debris falling in residential areas, with damages limited to property.
