"Conservation" – A National Imperative

Amid the strenuous efforts made by officials of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy and all personnel at its various sites to ensure the continuous provision of services to all customers, the issue of consumers’ rationalization of electricity and water consumption remains the best support and assistance for the ministry’s staff and cadres, particularly in light of the exceptional circumstances the country is experiencing and the malicious attacks targeting power stations.

Consumer commitment to rationalization, especially during peak hours when electrical loads reach their highest levels, is a key factor in alleviating pressure on the power grid and supporting the technical teams’ efforts to manage the system efficiently, thereby enhancing the ministry’s ability to maintain service continuity and complete repair and rehabilitation works for damaged units as quickly as possible.

In this context, the ministry’s official spokesperson, Engineer Fatima Jawhar Hayat, stated that the commitment and cooperation of citizens and residents in rationalizing electricity consumption enabled the ministry, by God’s grace, to overcome the difficult phase the power system experienced on Friday and Saturday. She noted that this commitment had a noticeable impact in reducing electricity consumption below expected levels and contributed to supporting the technical teams’ efforts to maintain system stability and service continuity. She thanked citizens, residents, all government entities, state institutions, media outlets, and the private sector for their cooperation in disseminating awareness messages on consumption rationalization.
