Kuwait condemns the systematic aggressive approach and targeting of civilian assets and critical infrastructure

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

- The attacks have caused severe damage to critical infrastructure, civilian facilities, and residential buildings.

- The aggression endangers the lives and safety of civilians, in a blatant violation of international law.

- Kuwait reserves its full right to take all necessary measures to safeguard its security and defend its territory.

- Condemnation of the targeting of Bahrain, Qatar, and Jordan, and reaffirmation of full solidarity with them.

Kuwait has continued its firm stance in the face of the reprehensible Iranian attacks, reiterating its unequivocal rejection of the targeting of its territory and critical infrastructure, and reaffirming its inherent right to defend its sovereignty and security in accordance with international law, while condemning the attacks that struck several Gulf and Arab countries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s condemnation and strongest denunciation of the reprehensible Iranian aggression that targeted the country’s territory on Saturday morning, hitting another power and desalination plant, facilities belonging to the oil sector, and several critical installations. The attacks sparked fires and caused severe damage to critical infrastructure, civilian facilities, and residential buildings.

Kuwait held Iran fully responsible for this brazen aggression and its repercussions, calling on it to immediately cease its attacks.

The Ministry emphasized that Kuwait reserves its full right to take all necessary measures to protect its security and defend its territory and critical infrastructure against any aggression or threat, based on its inherent right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter and the rules of international law.

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had expressed Kuwait’s condemnation and strongest denunciation of the reprehensible Iranian aggression using missiles and drones that targeted the country on Friday, hitting a power and desalination plant, resulting in a fire and damaging several electricity generation units.

In a related development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the reprehensible Iranian attacks that targeted the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Qatar, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in a blatant violation of their sovereignty and territorial integrity and a direct threat to the security of their peoples and residents.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed Kuwait’s full solidarity with these sister nations, its support for them, and its backing of all measures they are taking to address the repercussions of these attacks and safeguard their security and stability.
