Four Seasons Hotel Kuwait renews its 2026 Green Key certification
Four Seasons Hotel Kuwait at Al Shaya Tower has renewed its Green Key certification for 2026, reaffirming its ongoing commitment to responsible hospitality and embedding sustainable practices into its daily operations and guest experiences.
The hotel’s general manager, Martin Kipping, accepted the certificate alongside members of the hotel’s planning committee during a visit by a Green Key delegation comprising environmental advisor and national operator of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), Mona Al-Razzaz Basig; Wessam Abbas, chair of the sustainability committee at the Kuwait Water Authority (KWA); and Ibtisam Al-Mousa, Mona Al-Razzaz Basig’s assistant.
Speaking on the occasion, Kipping said, “Renewing the Green Key certification is a significant recognition of our sustained efforts and the teamwork behind our environmental commitments. Sustainability at the hotel is not a separate aspect of the guest experience; it is an integral part of how we care for our surroundings, support our community, and contribute to shaping a more responsible future for Kuwait’s hospitality sector.”
The hotel’s engineering department leads these initiatives with support from various departments, through a range of measures including the use of artificial intelligence to manage food waste, an in-hotel water filling station, continued reduction of plastic use, energy and water consumption monitoring systems, and the provision of electric vehicle charging stations.
Ali Al-Zein, director of the hotel’s engineering department, said, “Maintaining Green Key standards requires continuous monitoring, precise measurement, and full collaboration among all hotel teams. Renewing this certification reflects our colleagues’ commitment to translating our environmental goals into practical, impactful practices implemented on a daily basis.”
The renewal of the Green Key certification complements the hotel’s sustainability record, which includes its LEED Platinum certification and Forbes Verified Responsible Hospitality accreditation, embodying an approach that integrates luxury hospitality with environmental responsibility.
