Minister of Electricity Inspects the Site of the Incident at the Power and Water Desalination Plant Following the Brutal Iranian Aggression

Dr. Subaih Al-Makhzoum, Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, along with Al-Ahmadi Governor Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and the Ministry’s Undersecretary, Dr. Adel Al-Zamil, conducted an inspection visit to the site of the incident at the power generation and water desalination plant. The visit aimed to assess on the ground the damage caused by the brazen attack, monitor the progress of response and emergency operations, and review the technical measures taken to contain the incident’s repercussions, thereby contributing to maintaining the stability of the country’s electricity and water systems.

During the visit, officials received a detailed technical briefing on the nature of the damages, the urgent measures implemented since the first moments of the incident, as well as the rehabilitation and repair plans underway to restore the affected units to service in accordance with the highest standards of efficiency and safety.

They also closely observed the efforts of security, safety, and fire-fighting teams, as well as the engineering and technical personnel working at the site, commending the rapid response and high level of competence demonstrated by the field teams, and the continuous round-the-clock efforts to restore normal conditions as quickly as possible.

The Minister emphasized that the Ministry is operating at full capacity, mobilizing all its technical and human resources in coordination with relevant authorities to ensure the continuity of electricity and water production and to mitigate any potential repercussions of the incident. He praised the dedication and loyalty of the workers in fulfilling their national duty.

At the conclusion of the visit, he directed the continuation of assessment and repair works in accordance with the highest quality and safety standards, with ongoing precise field monitoring and acceleration of operations, aiming to address all impacts of the incident and restore the affected units to their normal operational status.
