Trump announces declassification of documents revealing "shocking vulnerabilities" in the US electoral system

US President Donald Trump announced on Friday the declassification of documents revealing “shocking vulnerabilities” in the US electoral system, accusing China of carrying out “the largest election data breach in history.”

In a speech to the American people, Trump stated that the United States is “the best country in the world,” pointing out that investment levels in the country are at an all-time high, inflation rates have recorded their largest decline in six years, and financial markets have reached record levels.

He added that “no country can be great unless its elections are fair,” claiming that China accessed private information on approximately 20 million Americans during the 2020 elections.

Trump clarified that intelligence documents indicate Beijing formed a special unit to exploit hacked US voter data and sought to leverage its relationships with major US companies to incite opposition against him. He also accused China of paying large sums to media outlets to criticize him.

Trump affirmed that intelligence agency leaders had reviewed the investigation results and acknowledged the validity of the published documents, accusing what he described as the “deep state” of concealing information regarding election interference and covering up flaws in the electoral system for years.

On domestic issues, Trump said his administration is working to build a secure electoral system that makes fraud and interference “impossible,” adding that US borders have become safer and that illegal immigration has reached “zero levels.”

Regarding energy, Trump noted that the United States has strengthened its presence in Venezuela, asserting that it has the potential to produce millions of barrels of oil there.
