The Women’s Secretariat at Al-Islah launches “Rushd” to strengthen faith-based development

The Women’s Work Secretariat of the Al-Islah Social Association has launched the “Rushd” project, an educational initiative aimed at strengthening faith, instilling values, and developing skills that empower women and girls to remain steadfast, grow, and contribute. The first project in this series takes the form of the “Noor and Falah” Quranic retreat, which combines memorization, reflection, and spiritual purification in an inspiring faith-based environment, in accordance with the divine verse: “Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance.”
In this context, Janan Al-Qattan, a member of the Women’s Work Secretariat at the association, emphasized that the “Rushd” project represents an educational vision through which we seek to build the personality of the Muslim woman on a balanced foundation, combining strong faith, sound methodology, and practical skills, so that its impact extends to the family and society.
She added that the “Noor and Falah” Quranic retreat is the inaugural initiative of this project, offering participants a comprehensive spiritual journey in which they renew their connection with the Book of God and experience an atmosphere of tranquility and reflection, thereby helping to embed the meanings of the Quran in hearts and behavior.
She clarified that the program is not limited to memorizing the Holy Quran; it also includes practical tools and specialized skills that aid in retaining memorization, alongside mental links and educational methods that make the memorization journey more solid and sustained.
She explained that the retreat also focuses on reflective pauses that broaden participants’ horizons for understanding the verses and recalling their meanings in real-life contexts, thereby enhancing the spiritual impact of the Quran on souls.
Al-Qattan concluded her statement by inviting all interested women to seize this blessed opportunity and enroll in the retreat, praying to God Almighty to make this project a beacon of guidance and right conduct, to bless the efforts of those involved, and to grant the participants the light of the Quran and success in this life and the hereafter.
