Customs Enhances Inspectors' Skills to Detect Counterfeit Goods

As part of the General Department of Customs’ commitment to developing national competencies and enhancing customs performance, the Intellectual Property Rights Department organized a specialized workshop titled “Distinguishing Between Counterfeit and Genuine Goods,” in coordination with the Administrative Development and Training Department, and in collaboration with Bayt Al-Hikma Consulting. The event was held at the Customs Theater in Area 3, Shuwaikh.

The workshop aimed to strengthen customs inspectors’ skills in identifying counterfeit goods and verifying their authenticity, thereby supporting efforts to protect intellectual property rights, curb the entry of counterfeit goods into the country, and enhance customs inspection efficiency in line with best practices.

This workshop is part of the continuous training programs implemented by the General Department of Customs, reaffirming its commitment to preparing its human resources and equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to keep pace with developments in customs operations, thereby enhancing performance quality and contributing to the protection of society and the national economy.
