Abdulmohsen Abdulaziz Al-Babtain Company, the exclusive distributor of Nissan vehicles in Kuwait, announced that Nissan Global has officially unveiled the all-new Tekton during its global launch event hosted in India. This move marks a significant milestone in the company’s transformation journey and reflects India’s growing status as a cornerstone in shaping Nissan’s future.
The all-new Tekton embodies Nissan’s vision of developing global vehicles launched from strategic production centers, with India at the forefront. Developed and manufactured in Chennai to meet the needs of the local market and export markets, the vehicle will be exported to 50 markets, including those in the Middle East and Africa, thereby strengthening India’s position as a strategic hub within Nissan’s global manufacturing, export, and product development ecosystem.
Commenting on the occasion, Guillaume Carriere, Chief Performance Officer at Nissan, said: “We are confidently advancing to strengthen Nissan’s presence and consolidate its competitiveness in India. As we continue to expand our SUV portfolio and focus on priority markets, the global unveiling of the Tekton represents a milestone that reflects our ambition to leverage our strategic partnerships to broaden our business scope. The Tekton embodies Nissan’s direction toward building a more diverse and competitive product portfolio, supporting its growth trajectory in global markets.”
For his part, Massimo (Max) Messina, President of Nissan Africa, Middle East, India, Europe, and Oceania (AMIEO), stated: “India continues to solidify its position as a key driver of Nissan’s growth in global markets. The all-new Tekton is the best testament to Nissan’s philosophy: ‘One car... One world,’ as it was developed and manufactured in India to meet customer aspirations across various markets. By exporting to the Africa, Middle East, India, Europe, and Oceania markets, the Tekton will contribute to expanding Nissan’s presence and enhancing its product portfolio, particularly in the Africa and Middle East markets.”
The vehicle draws its performance from a 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine producing 163 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed wet-clutch dual-clutch transmission (DCT), delivering smooth response, confident acceleration, and balanced performance across various driving conditions.
The Tekton also offers a spacious cabin equipped with a panoramic roof, ventilated front seats, a dual-zone automatic air conditioning system, practical storage solutions, and a large luggage compartment, providing passengers with higher levels of comfort for daily use and long journeys.
The Tekton embodies Nissan’s “One car... One world” philosophy, developed in partnership with Renault and manufactured in Chennai, India, to global standards to meet both local market and export requirements.
The model reflects India’s growing status within Nissan’s global strategy as a major manufacturing and export hub, supporting the company’s plans to expand its presence in the Middle East and Africa markets. It is expected to arrive in Kuwait soon.
