Egypt calls for international efforts to focus on the Palestinian issue

As part of efforts to strengthen relations with European Union countries, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a number of meetings during his current visit to Vienna, with regional and international files taking center stage among the topics discussed.
During a meeting with Austrian Federal Chancellor Christian Stuckert, Abdelatty said it was “essential to refocus international efforts on the Palestinian issue, thereby creating conditions to complete the full implementation of the first-phase obligations of US President Donald Trump’s peace plan for the Gaza Strip, and to move to the second phase of the agreement. He also stressed the need to halt ongoing Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement and stop attempts to expand the Israeli army’s control over the Strip.”
For his part, Stuckert praised “Egypt’s wise and measured policy in dealing with regional crises, and its support for efforts aimed at enhancing regional security and stability.”
During a meeting with his Austrian counterpart Beate Mairl-Riesinger, Abdelatty reiterated “the necessity of prioritizing political and diplomatic solutions and avoiding the widening of the conflict, given its repercussions on regional security and stability, international navigation security, global trade flows, and supply chains. He also emphasized the need to continue efforts aimed at de-escalation and adhering to the memorandum of understanding signed between the United States and Iran, which contributes to preserving regional and international security and stability.”
During a meeting with Susan Rab, Director General of the International Center for Migration Policy Development, Abdelatty stressed “the importance of activating the principle of burden and responsibility sharing at the international level on migration and refugee issues, thereby contributing to mobilizing further support for national development programs and joint initiatives, and enhancing the sustainability of service delivery to refugees, migrants, and host communities, within a balanced approach that links development requirements with sound migration management.”
