Minister of Health inaugurates the student exhibition for the "Stay Aware" awareness campaign against toxins

Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi inaugurated today, Wednesday, the student awareness exhibition for the “Stay Aware” campaign, aimed at raising community awareness about the dangers of toxins. The exhibition was organized in collaboration between students from the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Medicine at Kuwait University and the Kuwait Poison Control Center.

During the inauguration of the exhibition, held at The Avenues Mall, Minister Al-Awadi emphasized the importance of community awareness regarding the dangers of toxins present in both terrestrial and marine environments, which humans may encounter, as well as medications that may be accessible to children at home and cause health harm.

He clarified that the Ministry of Health’s participation in the exhibition’s opening stems from its commitment to supporting and backing future scientists and physicians in raising community awareness about the dangers of toxins, highlighting the significant role played by the Kuwait Poison Control Center in this regard.

For his part, Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Omair, Head of the Kuwait Poison Control Center and President of the Kuwait Toxicology Association, said in a press statement that the campaign aims to raise community awareness about the dangers of toxins, how to prevent them, and how to treat poisoning cases if they occur at home.

The Kuwait Poison Control Center specializes in providing advice and treatment plans, monitoring poisoning cases (through medications, vapors, chemical substances, or snake and scorpion bites), and overseeing toxic substances, in coordination with relevant state institutions.
