Vigilance of the Heroes... Thwarts Aggression and Treachery

Amid the military vigilance of the heroes of our armed forces, who thwarted new attacks, and diplomatic efforts that bolstered Kuwait’s position, alongside broad Gulf and Arab support, Kuwait continued to steadfastly confront the repercussions of the Iranian aggression. It reaffirmed that repeated assaults would not undermine its sovereignty or security, while regional calls intensified for an international deterrent action to halt Iranian escalation and preserve the security and stability of the region.

The military announced that air defenses repelled hostile drone attacks on Wednesday morning, following the reprehensible Iranian aggression. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated that the continuation of Iran’s reprehensible aggression constitutes a blatant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty, a serious threat to the security and safety of its citizens and residents, and an open challenge to international legitimacy and UN Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026). It reflects an insistence on continuing an aggressive approach and an irresponsible undermining of regional and international efforts aimed at achieving regional security and stability.

In this context, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber conducted a series of phone calls with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, and Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi. The discussions covered regional developments, condemned the recent Iranian attacks targeting Kuwait, and affirmed the right of countries subjected to Iranian aggression to take all necessary measures to safeguard their sovereignty and maintain their security and stability.

Defense Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Salim Al-Sabah inspected several sites belonging to the Naval Force, reviewing operational progress and levels of readiness and combat preparedness. The Minister also visited to check on the health of several injured members of the Naval Force who were targeted by the reprehensible Iranian aggression.

As Arab and Gulf condemnations of the Iranian attacks targeting Kuwait continued, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassem Al-Budaiwi stated that Iran’s actions represent an unprecedented escalation, reflecting a clear insistence on violating international rules and norms, and an unacceptable disregard for the consequences of dragging the region into further tension and instability.

He called on the international community to take practical and deterrent steps to ensure the cessation of repeated Iranian attacks and to hold those responsible accountable, thereby preserving regional security and peace and preventing the region from sliding into further escalation.
