Iran’s culpable attacks on the State of Kuwait continued, marking a new escalation targeting the country’s security and sovereignty. This occurred against the backdrop of high alertness by the Armed Forces, which successfully intercepted hostile drone attacks. Condemnations of the attack from Gulf and Arab states followed, with full solidarity with Kuwait reaffirmed and emphasis placed on the urgent need to halt Iranian violations that threaten the security and stability of the region.

The General Headquarters of the Armed Forces indicated that the sounds of explosions heard were the result of air defense systems intercepting hostile attacks.

In this context, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s strongest condemnation and denunciation of the culpable Iranian aggression that targeted the country on Tuesday evening, which resulted in injuries to several members of the Armed Forces and caused material damage.

In a statement, the Ministry reiterated that “the continuation of the culpable Iranian aggression constitutes a blatant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty, a serious threat to the security and safety of its citizens and residents, and a blatant challenge to international legitimacy and UN Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026). It reflects an insistence on continuing an aggressive approach and an irresponsible undermining of regional and international efforts aimed at achieving the security and stability of the region.”

It stressed “Kuwait’s inherent right to take whatever measures it deems appropriate to safeguard its sovereignty and preserve its security and stability, in accordance with the provisions of international law and the UN Charter.”

Diplomatically, Kuwait conducted a series of diplomatic calls with Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Jordan, during which it reaffirmed its condemnation of the recent Iranian attacks and stressed the full right to take all necessary measures to protect sovereignty and security, alongside discussing developments in the regional situation.

The Foreign Ministry stated in its Tuesday statement that Foreign Minister Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah held a telephone conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan. During the call, the Iranian attacks targeting Kuwait and the attacks launched by the Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia were condemned.

Both sides affirmed the full right of the two countries to take all necessary measures to safeguard their sovereignty and preserve their security and stability.
