Kuwait Technical College Organizes "Future Majors" Forum
Kuwait Technical College (K-TECH) will host the “Future Majors” forum next Sunday, under the patronage and attendance of the Governor of Mubarak Al-Kabir and the Acting Governor of Hawalli, Sheikh Sabah Badr Al-Sabah Al-Salim Al-Sabah, at the college premises from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event will feature participation by a distinguished group of academics, experts, and specialists in various future-oriented fields.
The organization of the forum stems from the college’s commitment to empowering youth, enhancing their awareness of future-driven majors, and aligning their academic choices with labor market needs, in line with the objectives of Kuwait Vision 2035 toward building a knowledge- and innovation-based economy.
The program will begin with an opening presentation by Assistant Professor Dr. Al-Bara’ Al-Tawrah from the Media Studies Department at the college, followed by a keynote address titled “From Kuwait Vision 2035 to a Generation That Builds the Future,” delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Faye Bin Salama from the Cybersecurity Department. She will highlight the major transformations currently reshaping the labor market and the disciplines that will lead the future.
The forum also includes a panel discussion titled “How Can We Empower Our Youth for Future Jobs?” moderated by Dr. Faye Bin Salama, featuring a distinguished group of speakers and experts: Dr. Mohammed Rabie Al-Anzi, a specialist in modern technology; Eng. Ashwaq Al-Mutawa, Founder and CEO of Aeero Group; Dr. Ghassan Abdullah Al-Othman, Founder and CEO of Athar Community Company and Advisor to the Regional Network of Healthy Cities at the World Health Organization; and Shaima Al-Qallaf, Scientific Researcher in Sustainable Environmental Management at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research.
The session will discuss key future skills, the role of artificial intelligence, sustainability, innovation, and digital transformation in shaping new job profiles, as well as strategies for preparing youth to keep pace with these changes. The forum also includes four specialized workshops covering sectors projected to be among the fastest-growing and most in-demand in the future:
- Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Jobs, presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Fatima Al-Nassar from the Information Systems Department at Kuwait Technical College and an AI specialist.
The forum will conclude with an open dialogue session with the audience, allowing students and parents to ask questions and engage with experts, thereby helping them make more informed academic and career decisions based on future labor market needs.
The organization of the “Future Majors” forum is part of a series of initiatives launched by Kuwait Technical College to reinforce its role as an applied educational institution that keeps pace with future demands, contributes to developing national cadres equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to lead transformation across various sectors, and enhances the readiness of Kuwaiti youth for the requirements of the national economy and local and global labor markets.
