Al-Khaliji calls on the international community to take practical and deterrent steps

In a unified Gulf and Arab stance, condemnations continued to pour in regarding Iranian attacks targeting Kuwait, with full solidarity affirmed with Kuwait, Jordan, and Bahrain. The attacks were deemed a blatant violation of sovereignty and a direct threat to the security and stability of the region.

In this context, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassem Al-Budaiwi expressed his strongest condemnation of the treacherous Iranian attacks targeting Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan, as well as the accompanying strikes on infrastructure and vital facilities, which resulted in injuries to members of the Kuwaiti armed forces.

In a statement, Al-Budaiwi stated that Iran’s actions represented an unprecedented escalation, reflecting a clear determination to breach international rules and norms, and an unacceptable disregard for the consequences of dragging the region into further tension and instability. He called on the international community to take practical and deterrent steps to ensure an end to the repeated Iranian aggressions and to hold those responsible accountable, thereby preserving regional security and peace and preventing the region from sliding into further escalation.

For its part, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expressed its strongest condemnation and rejection of the targeting of several Kuwaiti facilities and sites, particularly Kuwaiti border centers and an offshore drilling platform belonging to Kuwait Oil Company, as well as the attacks targeting the General Consulate of Kuwait in the city of Basra.

The statement added that the Kingdom holds Iran responsible for the consequences of continuing these brutal attacks, calling for an immediate halt to these violations to safeguard the security, stability, and integrity of the region, and reaffirming its full solidarity with sister states in their measures to preserve their sovereignty.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a declaration that the attacks constitute a blatant violation of the sovereignty of sister states and a threat to their security and stability. It reaffirmed the UAE’s full solidarity with Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan, and emphasized its support for all measures aimed at preserving their security and stability.

Qatar also strongly condemned the repeated Iranian attacks on Kuwait, Jordan, and Bahrain, considering them a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of these states and a shocking breach of the rules of international law.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed in a statement the necessity of sparing the region from the repercussions of these unjustified attacks, and of continuing the path of dialogue, diplomacy, and de-escalation. It reaffirmed Qatar’s full solidarity with Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait, and its support for all measures they take to preserve their sovereignty and security.

For its part, Egypt expressed its strong condemnation and rejection of the Iranian attacks targeting sites within the territories of Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed in a statement Egypt’s full solidarity with the sister Arab states.
