Al-Yad Youth Suffer Defeat in Asian Championship Opener

Kuwait lost to Iran 27-29 on Wednesday in Group 2 of the opening round of the 19th Asian Youth Handball Championship, which runs until July 26 in Chuzhou, China. The tournament serves as qualifiers for the 26th World Championship (Under-21), scheduled for June 23 to July 4, 2027, in North Macedonia, with the top four teams qualifying for the World Cup.
In Group 1, Saudi Arabia defeated Oman 40-27, and Bahrain beat Chinese Taipei 39-27.
Kuwait, known as “The Blues,” will play their second match against India on Friday, July 17, followed by games against Japan on July 19, South Korea on July 20, Qatar on July 21, and conclude their group stage against the United Arab Emirates on July 22.
