Trump Reiterates Statements from the Iran Hostage Crisis

US President Donald Trump has revived statements he made more than four decades ago regarding Iran, coinciding with escalating tensions and the resumption of US military operations against Iranian targets.
According to Fox News, the remarks date back to a 1980 interview during the hostage crisis at the US Embassy in Tehran, in which Trump asserted that the United States needed to demonstrate strength to earn the respect of other nations.
When asked whether he supported sending US troops to Iran during the hostage crisis, he answered without hesitation: “I feel very strongly that it should be done, and I don’t think there’s any question about it.”
