Israeli Soldier Jailed for Providing Iranian Agent with Videos of Missile Interceptions

In a statement on Wednesday, it was clarified that the soldier sent two video clips containing this type of footage in June 2025, during the 12-day war between Israel and Iran, and that he received a financial payment for one of them. The statement noted that the soldier provided the Iranian client with additional video clips filmed at civilian locations.

It was further explained that one of the clips sent from civilian sites documented a missile strike, which the soldier had found online.

The statement added that “after feeling pressured, the accused informed an official in his military unit that he had been in contact with a foreign agent,” before he was arrested by the General Security Service (Shabak).

The army’s statement said that contact with the soldier, who was serving mandatory military service, was made through his Telegram account, which he used to receive job offers, including one from an Iranian client to carry out filming tasks.

The Public Prosecution requested a seven-year prison sentence for the soldier, whose identity was not disclosed.

The statement clarified that “the court took into account that the accused did not transmit military information or information he obtained through his military duties, that he was the one who terminated contact with the foreign agent, and that he immediately reported this contact to his commanders.”

It added, “The court sentenced the accused to five years in prison, along with a suspended prison sentence, a fine of 1,000 shekels, and a reduction in his military rank.”
