Ministry of Education Returns Students to the Days of... "Yamal"

In an effort to connect the new generation with their ancestors’ maritime heritage and to diversify programs and activities, the Ministry of Education has launched, for the first time, the Naval Scouts Club as part of the school summer clubs system. The club offers a range of specialized maritime and educational programs aimed at developing students’ skills and reinforcing values of teamwork and self-reliance, in line with the ministry’s objectives of utilizing leisure time through meaningful educational and recreational activities.

Nawaf Al-Asousi, head of the Naval Scouts Club in the Fintas area, emphasized that the club was selected among the summer clubs due to its unique and specialized maritime activities. It offers a variety of programs, including swimming, kayak racing, fishing workshops, and marine workshops designed to familiarize participants with the marine environment and fishing methods. These activities contribute to enhancing students’ practical skills and fostering self-reliance and teamwork.

Al-Asousi added that the club is not limited to maritime aspects alone; it also includes theoretical programs and recreational sports activities. These include specialized workshops on knot-tying and rope handling, beach volleyball, and a “JCM” workshop, all designed to strengthen the scouting skills of participants in accordance with comprehensive educational principles.

Al-Asousi called on parents to enroll their children in the summer clubs, stressing that the Ministry of Education has provided these programs free of charge, with the aim of encouraging students to engage in meaningful activities and make productive use of their free time.
