A report published by Al Arabiya.net revealed that the prices of new graves in Istanbul, Turkey, have sparked widespread controversy following the city municipality’s announcement of updated fee schedules for land plots designated for burial. The report highlighted significant disparities in prices among graves, depending on their geographical location and level of demand.

According to Turkish media reports, the price of the cheapest burial plot in Istanbul starts at 10,728 Turkish lira, equivalent to approximately $270 US dollars, while the most expensive plot reaches 334,896 Turkish lira, or roughly $8,400.
