Kuwait's Blue Team meets Syria in the West Asian Championship in Muscat

Muscat – KUNA: The Kuwait national team will face Syria at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, in the opening round of Group 1 at the second edition of the West Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship. The tournament, which kicked off on Tuesday at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in the Omani capital of Muscat, features seven national teams and runs until July 21.
The national team will play its second match of the championship against Qatar next Saturday.
Regarding the preparations of the “Blue Volleyball Team,” Kuwaiti delegation head and member of the Kuwait Volleyball Federation, Ziad Al-Anazi, told KUNA that the team completed its preparations in Muscat after arriving there last Thursday from Cairo, where it held its training camp.
Al-Anazi added that the camp lasted ten days, during which the team played six exhibition matches, including two against Egypt. He emphasized that the camp achieved its objectives in preparing the players and enhancing their readiness and fitness following the suspension of sports activities in the country due to the events that have taken place in the region.
He noted that the technical staff had drawn up a schedule for the players upon their arrival in Muscat, which included morning and evening training sessions and an exhibition match against the Saudi national team, expressing hope that the “Blue” team would achieve the best possible results during the championship.
