Al-Murri: Expanding International Partnerships to Develop Gulf Emergency Systems

The head of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Emergency Management Center, Brigadier General Dr. Rashid Al-Mari, affirmed the center’s commitment to expanding cooperation with various regional and international partners and leveraging global expertise and experiences. This effort aims to strengthen emergency and crisis management systems, enhance the security and safety of GCC member states, and safeguard their developmental achievements.

Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Monday after receiving Belgium’s ambassador to Kuwait, Christian Domaz, Al-Mari stated that the center continues to strengthen its partnerships with diplomatic missions, international organizations, and entities. These collaborations contribute to developing readiness and response systems, as well as facilitating the exchange of expertise and best practices in emergency and crisis management.

He outlined the center’s key functions, including its monitoring and early warning systems, the central operations room, and mechanisms for information sharing and joint coordination among member states. He also highlighted Gulf initiatives and projects aimed at capacity building, developing response plans, and conducting joint exercises, all of which enhance integration among GCC countries in addressing various emergencies and crises.
