Red Crescent Cooperates with GCC Emergency Management in Crisis Response and Humanitarian Assistance

Khaled Al-Mughams, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Emergency Management Center, in order to develop crisis management systems and strengthen humanitarian response readiness in Gulf countries.

Speaking to KUNA after receiving a delegation from the Center headed by Brigadier General Dr. Rashid Al-Mari, Al-Mughams stated that the meeting reflects both sides’ commitment to expanding cooperation and exchanging expertise in emergency management, humanitarian, and relief response. He added that the Society believes in the importance of building strategic partnerships with specialized Gulf institutions, as this contributes to enhancing the efficiency of humanitarian work and developing disaster preparedness mechanisms, thereby serving affected populations and achieving Gulf integration in this field.

He noted that the Society continues to fulfill its humanitarian mission through an institutional approach based on cooperation and coordination with various national, regional, and international entities, highlighting that the exchange of experiences and expertise helps elevate the humanitarian work system.

For his part, Brigadier General Al-Mari, in a similar statement to KUNA, stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination with the Kuwait Red Crescent Society and benefiting from its pioneering expertise and experiences in humanitarian and relief work and emergency management. He said that the discussions covered ways to expand the scope of cooperation between the two sides.
