4,879 traffic violations recorded within 48 hours

As part of security efforts to regulate traffic flow and curb reckless drivers and violators, the General Directorate of Traffic conducted a campaign over the past Friday and Saturday across all governorates, resulting in the issuance of 4,879 traffic violations.

Truck-related violations topped the list with 213 cases, followed by radar speed violations with 212, mobile phone use with 175, and failure to wear seat belts with 160.

Additionally, 11 individuals were referred to preventive detention for 48 hours at the Traffic Department for committing serious offenses, and nine minors were referred to the Juvenile Affairs Department for driving without a valid license. Nineteen expatriates were referred to the relevant authorities due to the expiration of their residency permits, while seven vehicles were impounded pending court rulings.

Traffic officers also launched a campaign targeting hospitals, where several violations related to no-parking zones and obstructing traffic flow were recorded. A total of 253 hospital-related violations were issued, and eight vehicles were impounded due to the severity of the offenses.
