His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, sent a message of condolence to his brother, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the sisterly State of Qatar. In his message, which was preserved by God, His Highness expressed, on behalf of himself, the government, and the Kuwaiti people, profound sorrow and deep condolences, as well as sincere sympathy, to His Highness, the esteemed ruling family, and the brotherly Qatari people, upon the passing of the late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, may God have mercy on him.

His Highness added that the State of Kuwait and its people, pained by this loss, will forever recall with pride and esteem the positions taken by the sisterly State of Qatar and the late Emir, may God have mercy on him, in support of Kuwait and its just causes during the Iraqi occupation. He also praised the comprehensive developmental renaissance and significant progress achieved by Qatar under the late Emir’s blessed reign, which elevated the country to the ranks of advanced nations.

His Highness prayed to Almighty God to envelop the late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani in His boundless mercy, forgiveness, and pleasure, and to grant him a spacious place in Paradise among the righteous, the martyrs, and the truthful, for they are excellent companions. He also prayed that God grant His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the esteemed ruling family, and the brotherly Qatari people beautiful patience and solace in their bereavement.

For his part, His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, sent a message of condolence to his brother, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, expressing his deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to His Highness, the esteemed ruling family, and the brotherly Qatari people upon the passing of the late Emir, may God have mercy on him.

KUNA – The Diwan Amiri issued the following statement: “In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, by order of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect and guard him, official mourning is declared, and flags are lowered throughout the country and at Kuwaiti embassies abroad, starting today, Sunday, 27 Muharram 1448 AH, corresponding to July 12, 2026, for a period of four days, in mourning for the passing of the late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, may God have mercy on him. We pray to Almighty God to envelop the deceased in His boundless mercy and forgiveness, grant him a spacious place in Paradise, and reward him abundantly for what he contributed to his nation.”

Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Salim Al-Sabah sent a message of condolence to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs of the sisterly State of Qatar, Saud bin Abdulrahman. The Ministry of Defense stated in a statement on Sunday that the Minister of Defense expressed his deepest condolences and sincere sympathy in his message upon the passing of the late Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa, may God have mercy on him, praying to Almighty God to envelop the deceased in His boundless mercy, grant him a spacious place in Paradise, and inspire the esteemed ruling family with beautiful patience and solace.

The Bahraini Royal Diwan mourned the passing of Qatar’s great leader, the late Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. The Diwan stated in a message that by order of the King of Bahrain, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, a decision was issued to declare official mourning and lower flags across the Kingdom for four days in memory of the late Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, may God have mercy on him.

The United Arab Emirates also announced, in a statement issued by the Presidential Court, official mourning and the lowering of flags throughout the country and at all its embassies and diplomatic missions abroad, for four days starting on Sunday, invoking God’s mercy upon the deceased and asking that he be granted a place in Paradise.

In Jordan, the Hashemite Royal Court mourned the late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa, may God have mercy on him. The Royal Court added in a statement that, by order of King Abdullah II of Jordan, the Hashemite Royal Court declared mourning for the deceased at the Hashemite Royal Court for four days, starting on Sunday. For its part, the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced a one-day national mourning period.
