Grief enveloped Qatari society, with feelings of loss and sorrow dominating social media platforms, as Qatari mourners eulogized a “historic leader,” expressing their deep sadness with poignant words that recalled his national legacy and a career brimming with achievements that established him as the architect of modern Qatar’s renaissance and a staunch advocate for the causes of the Ummah.

Qataris widely shared a video documenting the moment the Emir Emeritus handed over the reins of power, focusing on his timeless advice in which he urged them to remain steadfast in truth regardless of changing times and circumstances. These words became the most prominent message circulated on social media in Qatar.

Media personality Jaber Al-Harimi expressed the sentiments of Qatari citizens, stating that God bears witness that they loved him as he loved Qatar and its people, noting that he built his nation, elevated its status, and defended the causes of his Ummah.

Media personality Mohsin Al-Yazidi affirmed that the late leader’s name is inextricably linked to the nation’s renaissance and dignity, leaving a solid legacy that will remain present in the consciousness of every Qatari. Meanwhile, writer Faisal bin Jassim Al Thani viewed the late leader as an exceptional and rare figure, a political genius, and courageous in difficult situations.
