Aggressive attack targets three border centers and an offshore oil drilling platform... to the north
Al-Atwan added that one of Kuwait Oil Company’s offshore drilling platforms in Kuwaiti territorial waters was also targeted by an enemy drone, resulting in material damage and the injury of one worker, who is receiving the necessary medical care. He noted that the competent authorities immediately began taking the necessary measures to handle the incident, in coordination with relevant entities.
The Chief of Staff’s statement came on Sunday evening following an earlier announcement in which the Armed Forces stated that they had intercepted enemy aerial targets within Kuwaiti airspace that morning, affirming the readiness of air defense systems to protect the country and respond to any threats.
In a subsequent statement, the group for inspection and disposal of explosives under the Army Engineering Corps said it had dealt with the remnants of shrapnel and explosives in the Subhan area, confirming that any explosion sounds heard were the result of the disposal process, and urging everyone to comply with safety and security instructions issued by the competent authorities.
For its part, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s strong condemnation and rejection of the reprehensible Iranian attacks, which reflect a persistent hostile approach and constitute a serious violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as a direct threat to its security, stability, and the safety of its citizens and residents. It also represented a grave breach of the rules of international law, the UN Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817.
The Ministry emphasized in a statement that the continuation of these attacks constitutes a highly dangerous escalation that could exacerbate tensions and instability in the region, threaten regional peace and security, and undermine diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and resolving crises through peaceful means.
It reiterated that Kuwait’s security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity are inviolable, and that Kuwait reserves all its rights to take necessary measures to protect its security and safeguard its sovereignty, in accordance with international law and the UN Charter.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expressed Kuwait’s strong condemnation and rejection of the reprehensible Iranian attacks that targeted sister states—Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, Qatar, and Jordan—in a repeated and blatant escalation that violated their sovereignty and territorial integrity, and constituted a serious breach of international law, the UN Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817.
In its Sunday statement, the Ministry affirmed Kuwait’s full solidarity with the sister states and its support for all measures they are taking to safeguard their security, stability, and sovereignty. It stressed that the continuation of such practices threatens the security and stability of the region, and renewed its call on Iran to immediately cease these actions, respect the sovereignty of states, and resolve disputes through peaceful means and dialogue.
