Kuwait University Concludes "From Decision to Achievement"

Kuwait University, under the patronage of University President Dr. Dina Al-Milhim, concluded the activities of the university admissions campaign exhibition “From Decision to Achievement.” Organized by the Dean’s Office of Admissions and Registration, represented by the Admissions Department, the event was held at The Avenues Mall over three days, drawing large crowds of high school students and their parents. The exhibition provided a comprehensive informational platform to answer students’ inquiries, introduce academic majors, and explain admissions procedures, application processes, and university services.
Dr. Fadel Abbas Aziz, Acting Dean of Admissions and Registration, emphasized that the strong attendance throughout the three-day event reflected the keen interest of students and their parents in directly learning about the academic majors and programs offered by Kuwait University, as well as the admissions and application mechanisms. He noted that the exhibition achieved its objectives by empowering students to make informed decisions based on accurate information, thereby helping them shape their university futures in alignment with their abilities and labor market needs.
In a separate development, the College of Science at Kuwait University, represented by the Computer Science Department, concluded the Kuwait Video Game Programming Championship. The event saw the participation of 267 students from various educational institutions across Kuwait, in collaboration with the Central Authority for Information Technology, the Kuwait Esports Club, and several supporting entities. The championship aimed to develop digital skills and promote innovation in game programming and development.
Dr. Haider Bahbani, Acting Dean of the College of Science, stated that the championship embodies Kuwait University’s vision of supporting applied education and linking its outcomes to the needs of the digital economy, while enhancing partnerships with state institutions and the private sector. These efforts contribute to preparing national cadres equipped with the technical skills necessary to compete in digital fields. He commended the efforts of the Computer Science Department, as well as the sponsors and supporters, for the championship’s success.
On her part, Dr. Maha Al-Abdulkareem, Academic and Executive Director of the championship and a faculty member in the Computer Science Department, said the event successfully transformed the concept into a practical platform for discovering and nurturing talent. She highlighted that strategic partnerships contributed to training and qualifying more than 220 participants from various age groups in video game programming.
The championship concluded with an awards ceremony honoring the winning teams, participants, sponsors, supporters, and organizers. The first-place prize went to the project “Alientrix” by participant Sulaiman Al-Mansouri. The second place was awarded to the project “Dungeon the Escape” by participant Mishaari Al-Abdulhadi, while the University of Kuwait team secured third place with its project “Trust Us.”
