Abdullah Al-Salem University organized the Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) exam for students applying to the College of Medicine and Health Sciences for the 2026/2027 academic year, in partnership with King’s College London. A team from the college supervised the exam via video conferencing, following the admission procedures approved by the college, in a move that reflects the university’s commitment to selecting students according to the highest global academic and professional standards.

The organization of this exam, which is the first of its kind and was conducted concurrently with the opening of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the university, makes it the second public university in the country to offer this specialization, thereby enhancing its contribution to preparing qualified national medical and health cadres capable of meeting the needs of the country’s health sector.

Dr. Mona Al-Ahmad, President of Abdullah Al-Salem University, stated in a press statement on Sunday that the opening of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the university represents a qualitative achievement that strengthens its mission to prepare distinguished national cadres in medical and health fields.

She added that the university, through the adoption of the MMI exam, is keen on selecting students who possess the necessary skills and values to excel in this noble humanitarian profession, thereby contributing to supporting the healthcare system in the State of Kuwait.

She clarified that the MMI is one of the latest assessment methods adopted by major medical schools worldwide, as it measures a range of core skills and competencies among students, including critical thinking, communication skills, and the ability to handle ethical and professional situations, ensuring the selection of students best prepared to study medicine and engage in the health field.

For his part, Dr. Adel Aaid, Acting Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, explained in a similar statement that the adoption of the MMI exam aligns with international standards followed by prestigious medical schools, emphasizing that the exam allows for a fair and comprehensive evaluation of students that goes beyond academic achievement to measure the human and behavioral skills necessary for practicing the profession.

Aaid said that “our partnership with King’s College London adds value that enhances the quality of the admission process and ensures its alignment with the highest global practices in medical education, thereby serving the preparation of a generation of qualified doctors to serve the nation.”

He added that the university’s organization of this exam reflects its commitment to applying best academic practices in admission processes and its keenness to provide an advanced educational environment that keeps pace with global standards in medical education.
