Zain Launches Its Summer Youth Program

Zain Kuwait has announced the launch of the seventh season of its Summer Youth Program, one of its most prominent sustainable community initiatives aimed at empowering the next generation of young national talents to enter the job market. This year, the program returns with a renewed focus entirely on on-the-job training within Zain’s main branches spread across various regions of Kuwait.

This year’s season sees the participation of 30 male and female interns from the university stage and recent graduates, distributed across 22 Zain branches in Kuwait. They will undergo direct practical experience in a real work environment, allowing them to closely observe the nature of daily work at the forefront of the telecommunications and technology sector, while acquiring essential skills in sales, marketing, customer service, communication, and teamwork.

The program witnessed significant interest this year, with more than 2,400 young men and women applying during the registration phase, reflecting the high status the program has achieved among students and ambitious youth seeking early practical experience. Subsequently, personal interviews were conducted with over 600 applicants to select the participants best suited to the program’s objectives and the nature of the field experience, leading to the finalization of the intern list who will embark on this practical journey within Zain branches.

The program offers participants an experience closer to market realities by working within specified hours at Zain branches for five weeks. Participants interact alongside work teams, learn about service delivery mechanisms and solutions for customers, understand customer needs, and engage practically and directly with various aspects of the marketing experience.

The program aims to enhance youth readiness for the job market by connecting them with a dynamic and rapidly evolving work environment. Participants learn the fundamentals of professional communication, customer interaction, product and service understanding, and presentation and marketing techniques, alongside developing skills in discipline, responsibility, self-confidence, and problem-solving in daily situations.

The program also included an informative session that introduced participants to the program’s objectives, pathways, and operational mechanisms within branches. Additionally, workshops and training sessions were conducted in collaboration with Achieve Kuwait, focusing on developing personal and professional skills and enhancing interns’ readiness for the job market. The program also featured a series of recreational and interactive activities aimed at fostering teamwork, strengthening bonds among interns, and creating a positive, motivating environment that combines practical learning with constructive interaction, thereby enriching their experience throughout the program duration.

The program’s focus on Zain branches reflects the company’s commitment to providing young people with a realistic training experience within one of the most critical touchpoints between the brand and its customers. Branches represent a vital space that combines service, sales, marketing, and direct human interaction, offering interns the opportunity to understand the comprehensive customer experience in the telecommunications sector.

Zain’s Summer Youth Program continues to play its role as one of the first and most prominent annual training platforms for honing the skills of Kuwaiti youth and inspiring them to discover their professional capabilities. Over its previous six seasons, the program has evolved to meet the needs of new generations and labor market requirements, with this year’s focus on building deeper practical experience within Zain’s operational and commercial ecosystem.
