Norway had taken the lead through Andreas Schjelderup, who fired a powerful shot past goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, but England quickly responded with an equalizer scored by Jude Bellingham.

During the halftime break, anger was clearly visible on the Norwegian bench. According to BBC Sounds, the Norwegian coaching staff believed that the ball struck the Spider Cam cable during the buildup to England’s equalizing goal.

The Norwegian technical staff claimed the ball hit the cable before reaching Anthony Gordon, who then passed it to Bellingham to score the equalizer.

The controversy intensified when former England international goalkeeper Paul Robinson joked on BBC Radio 5 Live: “If any British broadcaster has that footage, they should get rid of it quickly.”

Norwegian frustration did not end with that incident. Another goal was disallowed after video review showed Erling Haaland committing a foul on Elliott Anderson inside the penalty area prior to a corner kick. Under new video technology regulations, the goal was canceled and the corner was retaken.

Fans reacted on social media, with one writing: “Right before England’s goal, the ball hit the camera cable, and now VAR is disallowing one of our goals... What a night!”

Another added: “At first I thought it was just a joke, but the buildup to England’s goal really did hit the suspended camera cable.”
